Defenders of the Rio Grande is a non-violent, rapid response network formed to help protect the lands, waters, cultural heritage, communities, and ecosystems of the greater Big Bend region from destructive border wall construction and associated infrastructure.

The group exists to support safe, disciplined, lawful, and strategically thoughtful responses to emerging threats affecting the Rio Grande corridor and surrounding communities.

Defenders of the Rio Grande operates as a distinct but complementary lane alongside broader public advocacy, legal efforts, landowner support, research, and storytelling initiatives connected to the broader movement against the Border Wall and associated damaging border infrastructure.
